In 2014, she signed a three-month contract to Pro Wrestling Zero1. She was the first female to receive such a contract.

In 2013, Dakota made her appearance for the all-female American promotion Shimmer Women Athletes. But she could not win the defending champion Lucha Sisters at the Shine Tag Team Championship. In 2015, she joined the Japanese World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion. She won the vacant Artist of Stardom Championship alongside Hiroyo Matsumoto and Kellie Skater. In 2016, she signed a contract with WWE with the ring name Dakota Kai. 

Since 2017, Dakota has been competing under WWE's NXT brand as a professional wrestler with the ring name Dakota Kai. To date, she has earned millions of dollars from her wrestling career.
