Gina Carano is an American actress, television personality, fitness model, and former mixed martial artist. She has been crowned as The Face of Women’s MMA and is the first American woman to win a title in Thailand in Muay Thai. Gina had an interest in sports from an early age. At the age of 21, she started her training with a 4-time kickboxing champion, Mater Toddy, on the advice of her boyfriend, Kevin. Later, she made a record of 12 wins 1 loss in Muay Thai. She then went to the World Pro Fighting show in Las Vegas to fight Rosi Sexton; she won by knocking her out.

In 2006, Gina won her first Triple Threat in Strikeforce. The following year, she won two fights knocking out Julie Kedzie and Tonya Evinger. In 2008, she won the fight against Kelly Kobold; the victory was dedicated to her grandfather. Lastly, in 2009, she had the biggest fight in Women’s MMA, but she was defeated by Cyborg that brought the end of her MMA career.

Her father, Glenn Thomas Carano, is a former American professional football player who played as a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Her mother's name is Dana Joy.

After her parents' divorce, Gina and her two sisters - Casey Carano and Christie - were raised by their mother. Later, her dad played an integral part in her upbringing.
